One big PDF isn't always what you want to send. Maybe each chapter should be its own file, or you just need pages 1–3 to email to someone. Splitting a PDF breaks it into smaller files — here's how to do it for free, without uploading anything.
Runs in your browser. No uploads, no sign-up, no watermarks.
Step by step
- Open the Split PDF tool. Go to the Split PDF page and add your PDF.
- Choose how to split. Either split every page into its own separate PDF, or enter the page ranges you want as individual files.
- Split and download. Click split, and your new files download — bundled into a ZIP when there's more than one.
Two ways to split
- Every page separately: a 12-page PDF becomes 12 single-page PDFs. Great for splitting a batch of scanned documents.
- By range: pull out specific sections — for example pages 1–3 as one file and 4–10 as another.
Split, extract or remove — which do I need?
Use Split to break a PDF into multiple files. If you only need a few pages pulled into one new file, Extract Pages is simpler. And if you just want to drop a few unwanted pages, use Remove Pages.
Is it private?
Yes. The split happens entirely in your browser — your PDF is never uploaded, so it's safe for sensitive documents.
